I’m wide awake but I am 

Far away from space and time

It’s not because I’m feeling badly

I am doing fine

It’s nice to have a new perspective of 

the times I felt a little different than now


I get caught in spirals 

Round round I go

How could you want a girl like me 

When I’m losing control?

When I detach from real life 

It can be hard to catch my feet 

Before I lift off the globe

  (there’s no telling where I’ll go)

In moments like this if I asked you

Will you anchor me?

I’d understand if you say no

Sometimes I find that I am 

Floating through a magic land

The creatures there are friendly beasts 

Both mythical and man

Sometimes I land in hellscapes where 

I’m hunted by my demons

Screaming out beware

  THE VILLAIN Written by: Catherine Vartain-Frilund  I know she watches everything I do Her shadow shows up in the blackest rooms And when she asks you how I’m doing I hope you tell her life’s improving Now that she is no longer my burden And when she tells her friends and family That I’m the one who ruined everything I hope she recalls what she did I did my best to mend this Now she lurks by my fences That I put up to keep her out She’s always been the villain These thoughts are brewing deep inside my head I can’t escape, so here I sit instead I hope that every waking moment She knows that I’m the bigger woman I would never lead on innocents And when she says that she can’t stand me I am the one that she called family When there was no one else who did I did my best to mend this Now she lurks by my fences That I put up to keep you out She’s always been the villain
